Here is one of my incredibly long posts that i randomly write every once in a while. I have no idea if you people actually read them all the way through BUT im writing it anyways. Just cuz. So Ha. Just be redminded that reading this is nowhere near the exact experience as me saying it to you over the phone. AND me saying it to you over the phone is completely different from me actually being there and saying it. Apparently i actually use gestures and such things as that a lot. Also tone over phone is different than in real person….so….yeah…completely unique experience here people. Enjoy it. Or not.
I was pondering today about writing styles. Or more specifically the narrating styles that the author uses when telling a story. I am quite fond of stream of thought and randomness and like…thirdpersony. I like being to have two little niches in my head. The bitingly sarcastic anthropomorphic representation of the universe that is the narrator, and the character. The character can be anything he wants. Or she wants. Or he-she wants if thats the way they swing. Or she-he. Or…whatever combination of pronouns they want to be. Anyways, i was thinking about how narration style is very important to me. In addition to narration style there is character style. Some people are very good at making diverse sets of character that are new and innovative and make you think. I sometime dislike these people very much. Some things are they way they are because they just….are that way. Ever gone to tvtropes.org? thats kinda what im talking about. The Knight always kills the Dragon and saves the princess. Unless you are mocking that particular stereotype. I love mocking stereotypes. Its great when the fool that is supposed to be made fun of the whole time and beaten down and destroyed wins. But mocking stereotypes has been around just as long as stereotypes. This is kinda in real life too i think. For every bigotted jerk there is his own personal counterpart. When i say counterpart i mean a lot of things. It could be that in your story you are a main character and your counterpart is a rival. An evil one that you staunchly oppose because he’s actually a bad guy. Or you could have a counterpart that makes you better by enhancing all of your good traits. Or you could…i dunno….do something else. I would like to be the counter to most people. Id like to flummox them into thinking. Id like to make them so baffled that they cant even think the way they think properly, so they have to think in a new sideways way for them. You shouldnt go through life knowing. If you know you are right or wrong or better or worse then you cannot have hope. The way most people think that they know is that it follows their previous mindsets. They dont seperate their beleifs from their facts. They think they are better than you, and by thinking it they actualize it in their universe, so they in fact are better than you. This is very sad because when it comes to pass that you one up them, they are at a lose. Their paradigm for right and wrong comes crashing down around them. Or they just fudge their rules without thinking about it. They just…add a clause to their them being better than you. “Oh, im better than him still. At everything but…something” Insert whatever you want into the something. I was thinking bowling but not everyone is a competitive jerk that cant lose and freaks out if you beat them at bowling. And no, i did not have an experience with someone while bowling. And yes, i really am serious. I was just specific to mess with you. Get it? It’s a hilarious joke. You should be laughing right now. And if you werent at the joke then you should be laughing at my narration style. It’s designed to be funny. I think. Well, i dont think. I know its supposed to be funny. Its jsut much harder to change the way i talk into being more funny without actually being there seeing your face for the reaction. I wouldnt even be doing it conciously, most of it would be pulled off with a brilliant pattern finding algorithm in my subconcious, all the numbers crunch by the beautiful thing that i (in addition to several other people on the planet earth) have in my head. My Brain.
I just realized that the usefullness of being able to learn only applies in a universe where there are set rules. There would be no reason in having a memory in a universe where things changed randomly. It would not be useful in the least. Why would you remember the truth “2 = 2” if it were to be able to change? or would the change of the truth change your memory to match the truth? Is that how philosophers pulled off the idea that the universe is recreated every moment or so? It would be the same thing as a shallow copy in programming. Or it would be counteracted by shallow copying. Its more like passing by reference. Our brains dont know “2 = 2” they dont know the contents of the law. Well they do, but only through the reference of it physically. “2 = 2” is defined somewhere in the universe, or outside of it, it doesnt really matter. What matters is we dont know “2 = 2” whenever we encounter a situation that utilizes the rule “2 = 2” we remember a greater thing that points to the definition of what we want. Huh. That would be neat. No Idea if i can prove it right or wrong or if it even matters.
Bwahahahaha. If i only i were home. If only i were with you. If only these messages werent so very clichedly aimed at my girlfriend. But i do so miss her. Very much. A week is going to be very hard to wait. It was almsot impossible waiting for the previous week, and this one has that one stacked before it. Its exponentially hard. Sorry to partick and alina. When i invent a teleportation device ill let you borrow it. Or better yet build you your own…
